Two militant hideouts unearthed in Kupwara, huge arms, ammunition recovered | KNO

Kupwara, Mar 31 (KNO): The Security Forces in Northern Kashmir's Kupwara district on Tuesday claimed to have unearthed two militant hideouts in two different sectors along the line of control with recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition. According to wire service—(KNO), an official said in two different anti-militancy operations at Keran and Pingla Teethwal two hideouts were unearthed with recovery of huge quantity of Arms and ammunition. An official, who was part of the Pingla Teethwal operation told—KNO that on Monday late evening a search operation was launched in the woods after specific inputs. “On intensifying the operation within the woods a militant hideout was unearthed and huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered by Army's 17 Bihar Unit in Pingla Teethwal Tangdhar,” he said. He said the recoveries made are 2 Pistol, 3 Magazine's and 33 live rounds and a case under relevant sanctions stands registered in this regard. In another operation launched jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police and local Army during which they claimed to have recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in the woods of Keran sector. An official part of the operation said a special team was dispatched from Kupwara towards Keran after receiving specific inputs about the accumulation of arms and ammunition in the woods of Keran sector. The team has recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the suspected spot in Keran sector while no arrests were made, he said. He said the actual quantity recovered from the scene isn't known, adding that the team once reaches Kupwara only then can be said as how many days back the incriminating material was kept in the hideout and other details will also come to fore. A top police official confirmed both the developments to KNO and said that cases under relevant sections stands registered and more details will come fore after thorough investigation—(KNO)
